Lyran units
Yarul (first lvl unit; basic grunt)
Lyrans on the first tier of evolution are called “the fair ones”, or Yarul in their tongue. They comprise the majority of the Lyran hierarchy, being the foundation upon which the Lyran war machine is built. Their primary function in the war are as mass tactical foot soldiers, to be utilized by those higher in command as deemed fit. They are proficient in wielding Killin crystals to a degree, being able to channel the crystals’ essence into materializing solid glowing swords, for which they use to cut down Dragnossi with righteous fury. These units are easy to maintain as they require only minimal crystal consumption to get by.
Joruushar (second lvl unit; long range archery unit – bombard enemies from afar)
Lyrans on the third tier of evolution. The mergence of four Yarul are required to form a Joruushar. Wielding fierce javelins crafted from the purest of Azanite crystals on one hand and channeling deadly lightning bolts on the other, the angels of destruction are a sight to behold on the battlefield. Soaring through the skies on feathery wings of bloody crimson, they rain death and destruction upon the Ragnossi with unbridled fury, while remaining safely out of reach of most Ragnossi ground units. Being bound to the javelins they wield, they never miss their mark and they strike their targets with brutal force and blinding speed, obliterating all who dare stand in the way of the Lyran crusade.
Ullars (third lvl unit; swift strike force – high attack but low survivability)
Lyrans on the third tier of evolution. The mergence of three Joruushar are required for the creation of a Ullar. Ullar appear much as the Yarul do, save for the fact that they are slightly transparent and their features more refined and subtle. Large, golden colored wings rise majestically from their backs and the Ullar take great care in grooming them. They project an ethereal grace and beauty that is much envied by the Yarul. Despite their frail appearance, Yarul are able to wield their massive golden swords with surprising ease, tearing and slicing foes apart in a beautiful dance of death. Ullars are the strike force of the Lyran army, swooping down on their designated targets in swift silence and cutting down the foes where they stand. Such is their efficiency and skill that most times, their victims can only feel a slight gust of wind and see a blinding, golden flash before they breathe their last.
Lyran Buildings
Touwelh (first lvl unit production building)
Transparent, crystalline structures that spiral majestically into the sky, touwelh are the first Schools of learning that all Lyrans go to to embark on their personal journey of spiritual advancement. It is here that the Lyrans are taught noble precepts and virtues, and it is also here that the Lyrans are taught the basic ways of warfare and tactics. Lyrans learn to wield their swords here, and each sword is bound to the Lyran that wields it. Upon completion of their training here they are inducted to the Yarul ranks, where they feverently hope to quash the heretic Ragnossi on the battlefield.
Tousheilla (second lvl unit production building, or special strike force units)
These magnificent purple-hued structures stretch high into the sky as far as the eye can see, with their haughty, resplendent towers seemingly carousing with the stars that dot the twilight sky. It is also the School on the second evolutionary stage of a Lyrans’ spiritual advancement. The School takes great pride in the fact that the all important concepts of honor and duty are indoctrinated into the hearts and souls of the Lyrans here. Besides that, Lyrans are taught advanced combat warfare and strategies to supplement their chivalric lessons. Lyrans at this stage, called Ullars, take the first step on the long, arduous process of harmonizing their spirit with their soul-bound swords, which will last throughout their entire evolutionary process.
Touyaksha (defense building)
Plain looking by Lyran standards, these squat, inconspicuous buildings are the death of more than a thousand Ragnossi. Though seemingly innocuous in appearance with no outward signs of weaponry, the buildings are manned by Lyrans whose spirits are bound to the crystal essence of the building themselves, and all it takes is for the fertile imaginations of the Lyran guards therein to conjure up various magical defenses to punish unsuspecting Ragnossi. The most common mode of defense manifested is a huge turret capable of emitting precise laser beams that decimate all in its path as it sweeps across the battlefield.
Yarullar (recovery unit that functions as a hospital building)
Statues of pristine marble, sculpted into tall, intimidating Lyran warriors are to be found guarding the entrances of Lyran temples dotted throughout the land. So lifelike are these statues that they seem ready to step off their pedestal at any given moment and wade into glorious battle. Indeed, it is not that far from the truth for the Yarullar are actually the repository for the spirits of slain Lyran warriors. Given a second chance at redemption, those fallen warriors on the battlefield that are judged to have fought courageously are recalled back from their Plane of Ascension and given the task of bringing back similiarly slain warriors but whose time has not yet come for them to depart, or have a purpose to fulfill. If they accept, their spirits are then bound to beautifully carved statues where they lie dormant until called upon, usually in the aftermath of a battle. They seek out the bodies of fallen champions or worthy warriors and then revive them back to life, replenishing the Lyran army and boosting the legions’ morale.
